digital gardens are collections of densely linked notes that evolve over time

topics: [[digital gardens]]

digital gardens are collections of densely linked notes that evolve over time; you might expand on a note, copy or reference it, even prune it completely.
there are two overlapping primary use cases for digital gardens: publishing and learning.
- digital gardens offer an alternative to reverse-chronological posting; they encourage curious exploration without rigid architecture.
- they also offer a flexible, expansive approach to knowledge management; my obsidian vault is a digital garden.
- importantly, for both use cases, completion or polish are not the goals of gardening.
this is one way to protest homogeneity on the open web and the suburbanization of the internet.
